Last week a model came to me looking to update his portfolio with new head shots. He decided he wanted to do some outdoor and studio head shots. Well, last week we knocked out the outdoor head shots at a local park and tried a few different looks. With in the next couple weeks I'll be posting the studio shots too, but for now I hope you enjoy these head shots.
Last week I received an email from the book printing company My Publisher, about getting my first printed book free with the promo code they sent me. I thought what did I have to loose? So later that day I downloaded their software and designed my book. My first impression with the company wasn't that great. While their software is well designed to help people without design skills, I felt it very clunky and it has too much hand holding. Though I checked their website today, they are now incorporating PDF uploads, allowing designing to be done in your software of choice and then uploaded. I look forward to trying that feature for my next book!
Aside from the software I was quite eager to receive my book in the mail! To my surprise, I received the book one week after ordering it, a little faster than I expected since I didn't choose two-day shipping. So today I picked up my book from the post office and excitedly opened it up. I am quite happy with the book overall (acurate color, quality paper, etc.), with just one mistake in the entire book. The mistake was an image rotated and enlarged due to the software believing I made a mistake. Another reason I will be happy to design my next book with software I am more comfortable with, such as photoshop or illistrator. Bellow are the images of my first book, "In Search of Light".
Thanks, hope you enjoy and please share any experianced you might have had with this printing company.
