The final composite image from the shoot.

Anxiety Editorial Studio Photoshoot

Duane Tkatch September 18, 2016

A few weeks ago I had the idea of doing a few shoots based on social and psychological problems such as anxiety, suicide, and PTSD.  I wanted to do these shoots because of the meaning and the effect they have had on me and people close to me in my life, as well as all the other people they affect.  In this shoot, I focused on anxiety, one of the most reported social/psychological problems in the world.  I've known several great people to suffer from severe anxiety problems and know similar to PTSD that not much is done to help treat the root of the problem and fixing it once and for all.  I hope that with these photos and exploring these topics deeper maybe I can one day help bring more awareness to them and help solve the problem.  These photos are my first step.

In the shoot, I had several goals that help stylize the final image.  My first goal was to the model fading into the dark background this is to symbolize the feeling of being alone and ignored in a time of need.  The second goal was having the model being pulled in multiple directions.  This is to show how some feel during a anxiety attack and start to panic.  Frantically looking around and checking your surroundings.

The folllowing photos are out takes from the shoot that I also liked.  The first image is a in camera ghosting effect done with controled lighting.  While the other two images show my friend Alejandra's personality.  I would also like to shoot a big THANK YOU to my friend for being a part fo this shoot and helping make it possible.

Sunset 3, the final light before descending from the peak to escape the wind kicking up the sand. Bringing the end to such a beautiful sunset. Something that was well needed, enjoy the little things
Sunset 2, about 10 minutes after the previous photo. As the light quickly fadded the colors changed some deepened and some became more pastel. The foreground started to fade as it was being overshadowed by the fading light in the distance. Setting up
Sunset 1 from the dunes. We got a late start on the hike but made it to the top at the perfect time. We got to watch a beautiful sunset light up the seemly endless desert we were surrounded by. The beauty of this sunset just continued to get more bea
Every new adventure starts by taking the first step. In this case, the first steps were the easiest. Took a trip to the Kelso dunes in the Mojave national preserve yesterday, this time with the goal of hiking up the dunes rather then just shooting th
One of the images from my test shoot the other day. Very pleased with the result from this natural light shoot of my new mountain bike. Can't wait to take this on some adventures to capture some amazing landscape photos.
Photos from a recent headshot shoot with @mariomartel. While getting several great shots we also captured a few fun shots for the out takes.
Everytime I see the Milky-way I want to take a panoramic image of it. Here is my third and my best Milky-way panoramic image (so far).
It was another great night under the stars last night. This is my first ever attempt at a compositing the milky-way in with a twilight shot. It's far from the best, but I can say I'm excited to get better at this as I shoot the milky-way more, I will

A quick shot of @luis12a94 between rounds of sparing yesterday at @combatathletics.us. Always a fun time observing and photographing martial artists.
